Jackie (Jack) Edwin Bond Sr. Has gone to be with the Lord, April 25, 2016. He was born January 5, 1930 to Sherman Taylor and Stella Bond in Logan West Virginia, both of which have preceded him in death. He also is preceded in death by one sister Nana Bond Oast, and his daughter Cheryl S. Bond whom he so loved and missed.

He is survived by his wife Joann Bond. He leaves his children Jack E Bond, Jr., Stacie Denise Bond Rakes (Jeff) and Timothy K Bond (Sharon), step children, Richard (Chris) Stokes Jr., Debbie Lawres, Beverly (Garry) Hall, Kimberly (Tom) Edgecomb, Jodi (Shawn) Meer, Grandchildren- Rochelle Mantous, Summer Bond, Zack & Isaac Rakes,Justin and Paige Bond.

Jack was born in Logan, West Virginia-at age 17 he went to war joining the U.S. Marine Corp- After serving over seas he returned home where he continued in the automobile industry – he was a successful business owner- he eventually retired from the city of Vero Beach. Jack was a skilled craftsman – including home construction, auto body repair & mechanic- he was an avid gardener and loved to cook. He love to study and teach the word of God – he has completed his journey and is now at peace with Christ and all those he loved and who have gone on before him. Jack was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Funeral services for Jack will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday April 28, 2016 at the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Roberson officiating. Special music will be provided by Danita Kennedy & Patsy Phillips.

The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 1-2:00 PM at the church prior to the service. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Ray Roberts, Gary Cook, Steve Drake, Mike Bittel, Larry Davis & Clarence Phillips. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society in Jack’s honor.
