Obituaries

Mr. Carl F. Buser, age 83, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 12, 2016, following an extended illness.

Carl was born in Cambridge City, IN, on January 30, 1933, and then moved with his family to Connersville, IN, where he met and later married the love of his life, Gay Ann Buser, to whom he was married for almost 62 years. Carl and Ann eventually moved their family to Atlanta in 1966, where they lived until Carl’s retirement, after which they moved to Blairsville in 1998. Carl graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis in 1955, after which he went to work for Peoples-Home Life Insurance Company. With the move to Atlanta, Carl went to work for Coastal States Life Insurance Company, and he ended his career with Confederation Life. He had many fond memories of his time working with those companies, and with the agents he managed. After their move to Blairsville, Carl became active in The House of Prayer. He was recently awarded a plaque from the church for his 15 years of service in the Ushering Ministry, for which he was understandably very proud. Carl also became active in the Union County Lions Club, joining the club in 1998. He held many positions with the Lions, including Treasurer, President and a member of the Board of Directors. For his many years of faithful service, Carl was named Lion of the Year, and was also awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow, Lions International’s highest honor.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Ann, his three sons Dave (and Trish), Wade and Brian, his four grandchildren, Mark (and Mandy), Jeff (and Sabrina), Matt and Melanie, as well as five great-grandchildren.
