Mrs. Josephine Phillips age 76 of Ridgeland SC formerly of Blairsville passed away on Wednesday July 13, 2016 in Union County following an extended illness. Mrs. Phillips was born on June 17, 1940 in Union County, the daughter of the late Loman Barnes and the late Beulah Ballew Barnes. Josephine loved flowers in her garden, canning, fishing and her cats and dogs. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Phillips in 1994, a sister, Leslie Barnes and three brothers, Vernon, Jerry and Claude Barnes. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Barnes are her children, Danny (Deborah) Phillips of Hiram, GA., Regina (Eugene) McCallie of Hiram, David Phillips of Savannah, GA., Pat Mann of Savannah, three sisters and brothers in law, Kay and Harold Cook of Blairsville, Sue and Ronnie Ware of Murphy, Maude and Gene Henson of Paxico, KS., five grandchildren, Cindy and Charlie McCallie, Sharon Jervis, Carrie and Van Roe, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Lovingood and Rev. Steve Ware officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Charlie McCallie, David Phillips, Seth Morgan, Gene Henson, Harold Cook and Dean Cook. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Carson Lovingood and Dawson Sisum. Interment will follow in the Meadow View Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends on Friday evening from 6-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Meadow View Cemetery.
