Mr. Arthur Michael “Mickey” Lamb age 78 of Blairsville passed away on Wednesday September 7, 2016 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Lamb was born on August 26, 1938 in Dublin, GA., the son of the late Robert Lamb and the late Verna Lee Carter Lamb. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mickey loved his family and loved his animals. Before his retirement he was a Police Officer with the Lake Worth Police Department with over twenty seven years of service and worked in most of all of the divisions. He had been a firearms instructor with the NRA and was a member of the Knight of Columbus. Mickey was an All American 82nd Airborne. He was a lifelong Democrat. He was preceded in death by his parents and also a son, Ronald Lamb in 2015 and also by a brother, Ronald Lamb. Mickey was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Surviving Mr. Lamb are his loving wife and best friend of thirty six years, Margaret Ann Murray Lamb of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Donna and Danny Everett of Blairsville, one brother and sister in law, Robert and Georgia Lamb of Oregon, one sister, Diane Noranita Arms of Tucson, AZ., daughter in law, Debra Lamb of Berwick, PA., one grand daughter, Jane Lamb of Blairsville, one great grandchild, Russell Harkins of Blairsville, his dogs and cats, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be to the Union County Humane Society Mtn. Shelter in Mr. Lamb’s memory.
