Mr. William Prendergast age 85 of Cherokee Rd. Blairsville passed away on Wednesday November 30, 2016 following an extended illness. Mr. Prendergast was born on March 23, 1931 In Minneapolis, MN., the son of the late William Russell Prendergast and the late Pearl Ann Cramer Prendergast. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a member of the NRA. William loved football. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Prendergast on March 12, 2016. Mr. Prendergast was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving Mr. Prendergast are three sons and two daughters in law, Bill Prendergast of Blairsville, Mark and Emily Prendergast of Blairsville, Gary and Brenda Prendergast of Blairsville, one daughter, Cynthia Grace of Blairsville, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday December 3, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Marty Duncan officiating. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements. You may send condolences on line at www.mountainviewfuneralhome.com
