Banton puts the game away with a strikeout

The Panthers hosted the White County Warriors, Friday, March 1st in a non-region matchup. The Panthers entered with a 4-1 record. The first pitch was at 6:32.

Ean Harkins took the mound for the Panthers for his first start of the season and his 3rd appearance of the season. Harkins pitched well early as he pitched 4 shutout innings.

The Panthers got off to a quick start as they scored 2 runs in the bottom of the second due to RBI singles by Schafer and Davis to grab an early lead.

A pair of RBI’s extended the Panther lead in the 3rd inning by Kelley and Davis gave the Panthers a 4-0 lead to end the 3rd.

Colwell took over in the 5th as Hakrins left 2 on base with no outs. A rocky start for Colwell tied the game at 4 due to a couple singles and an Error by UC.

Davis yet again added to his RBI total by grabbing a 2 run double extend the Panther lead. UC uses a solid inning to extend the lead 9-4 through 5.

Banton replaces Colwell after 1 2/3 innings as Colwell allows 2 hits and a walk. Colwell allowed 4 runs 3 of which were earned.

Banton puts the game away with a strikeout as runners threatened on 2nd and 3rd. As the Panthers go on to win 9-6.

Davis led the Panthers with a career high 4 RBI’S, Scott followed with a 2 RBI single in his only at bat.

Harkins led the defensive force with 4IP, 2 ER, and 4 K’s. Banton followed with 1 2/3 innings 2 BB’s and 2 K’s.

The Panthers improve to 5-1. The next matchup will by Monday, March 5th @ Murphy NC in a non region matchup. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00.
