Mrs. Margie “Arlene” Ledford age 91 of Rocky Top Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday April 6, 2018 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Ledford was born on June 17, 1926 in Blairsville, GA., the daughter of the late Reid Burnette and the late Tina Foster Burnette. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. Arlene loved quilting, growing flowers and keeping her yard in immaculate shape. She enjoyed being outdoors. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ledford in 1991 and a granddaughter, Tina Ledford. Arlene was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Ledford are one daughter and son in law, Frances and T.J. Plott of Blairsville, one son and daughter in law, Harold and Jody Ledford of Blairsville, four grandchildren, Dawn Wilson, Dana and Ricky Bridges, Gina and Jeremy Parks, Caitlin and Daniel Pruitt, twelve great grandchildren, Brianna and Callie Fortenberry, Katie and Natalie Wilson, Addison, Arthur, T.J. and Kayla Bridges and Lauryn Sumner, Zander Parks, Deacon and Dalton Pruitt, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday April 8, 2018 at 3:30 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Tony Black and Rev. Tommy Seay officiating. Special music will be presented by Martha Davenport and Becky Rogers. The following  gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Arthur Bridges, T.J. Bridges, Bruce Gray, Bobby Ledford, Chris Beaver and Fred Gray. Interment will follow in the Ivy Log Baptist Church cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband Floyd. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Ivy Log Baptist Church cemetery Fund in Mrs. Ledford’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-8:00 pm.
