Carl Walter Chalman, age 80, of Blairsville, passed away on July 22, 2015 peacefully at his home with family and friends by his side.
Carl was was born, August 8, 1934. He was preceded in death by his wife Cassandra, his mother and father, and two brothers, who both served in WWII.
Carl was full of life and although he had no children, he had several nephews and nieces, two Bobby and Robin that kept him on his toes and were like children to him.
Carl was known for his love of animals and dedication to the Salvation Army.
Carl lived in the Blairsville/Hiawassee area for the past 25 years, coming originally from Ohio.
Carl’s family and friends wish to send their heartfelt thanks to: Dr. Mary Beth Wiles, Cathy and Twilla, also to Dr. Crawford and staff at Peachtree Animal Hospital, For the love and care they gave his menagerie of pets, Nancy and staff at the Cancer Treatment Center, Special thanks to Deena At Home Health, Heart life Hospice staff Chaplain Tarr, Stephanie. Ashley and Madea who showed what hospice care should be .Jerry, Tom and Staff at Rite Aid and Tony Denton who befriended and stood by Carl since he moved to the area.
The family cannot express the gratitude and love they have for Carl’s home health care angels, Bennie Plott, Leo Woodcock, Kim Bonanno, Gail Dyer, Jo Jones, they sacrificed a lot to be there for Carl with love, care, devotion and professionalism. We will never be able to repay our debt to them.
In lieu of flowers, donation should be made to the Cancer Society or Castaway Critters.
