Fred Thomas Danner Jr: Obituary

Mr. Fred Thomas Danner Jr. age 85 of Chestnut Lane Blairsville passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday August 29, 2015 following an extended illness. Mr. Danner was born on August 9, 1930 in Winston Salem, NC., the son of the late Fred Thomas Danner Sr. and the late Lindsey Maude Ray Danner. Fred was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 121. Before his retirement he had been employed with Safeco Insurance Company with over forty years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Fred was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Surviving Mr. Danner are his loving wife of fifty nine years, Gloria Newsom Danner of Blairsville, two sons, Fred Thomas Danner III of Colorado Springs, CO., Paul Wilcox Danner of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Matthew Danner and Katherine Danner, many other relatives and friends also survive. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday September 1, 2015 at 12:00 pm from the Georgia National Cemetery with Father Richard Wise officiating. The US Army will conduct Military Honors at the cemetery. The family will meet with friends following the services at the cemetery.
