Donald D. Cummings: Obituary

Donald D. Cummings, age 54 of Blairsville, GA, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015, after a brief illness. Don was born in Medina, OH on April 20, 1961. He was an avid runner who ran over 4,000 miles in the past 4 years including the Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in November of 2014. He ran a lot of other races in his time including many 5ks and 10ks. “I think his best one was his Journey through life,” said his daughter, Amy. Daughter, Emily quoted the Phi Mu Creed in reference to her Dad’s memory, “To keep forever sacred the memory of those we have loved and lost.” Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Patricia Cummings, and his two daughters, Emily and Amy Cummings, all of Blairsville. His two sisters, Joyce McKnight (Ron McKnight) and Janice Maddux (mark Maddux) of Lancaster, OH and many nieces and nephews also survive Don. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and was beloved by countless friends. Also widely respected by his co-workers, Don was the Network Manager at United Community Bank, Inc for 17 years. A private family memorial service is planned for a later date.
