Mr. Earl Grady Arnold age 84 of State Hwy 325 Blairsville passed away peacefully on Thursday October 22, 2015 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Arnold was born on July 25, 1931 in Dalton, GA., the son of the late Thomas Watson Arnold and the late Mamie Cochran Arnold. He was a veteran of the US Army of the Korean War. He retired from Lockheed after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning and traveling. He was a member of Kennesaw Masonic Lodge F&AM. He was a loving uncle and was a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Thomas Arnold in 2012. Mr. Arnold attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Arnold are his nieces and nephews, Donald and Betty Arnold of Macon, Frances Chastain of Dalton, Dimple Chastain of Dalton, James and Shirley Bryson of Dalton. Ronnie and Linda Futral of Acworth, several other nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services will be held on Sunday October 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Tony Black officiating. Special music will be presented by Luther Thomas and Sally Roberson. Serving as pallbearers will be Nephews and great nephews. Interment will follow in the Oak grove Baptist Church Cemetery where he will rest next to his beloved wife Myrtle. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 4-9:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
