Alice Elizabeth “Liz” Kerr Zittere Newbold: Obituary

Mrs. A. Elizabeth “Liz” Kerr Zittere Newbold age 95 of Cypress Edge Drive Blairsville formerly of Wellington and Miami, FL., passed away peacefully on Monday November 23, 2015 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Newbold was born on March 12, 1920 in Buffalo, NY. The daughter of the late Richard Kerr and the late Alice Bell Kerr. During WWII she served with the Secret Service in Miami. She was a member of the Rosary Society in Morehead City, NC. and the Embassy Women’s Club in Lisbon Portugal. Liz was a manager for the #1 store for 5-7-9 Shops and attended the Miami Dade Community College. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Zittere in 1978, a brother, Edgar Kerr and two sisters, Marie Jane Robinson and Nathalie DelPra. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Newbold was of the Catholic faith. Surviving Liz is her loving husband Robert M. Newbold, daughter Karen Kittredge and husband Charles, daughter Suzyn Zittere of Blairsville. One son and daughter in law, John and Judy Zittere of Hollywood, MD. step daughter, Nancy and David Matthews of Vacaville, CA., seven grandchildren, Craig and Carol Kittredge, Kerry and Billy Grayson, Shawn Schulte, Karley Schulte, Ryan Schulte, Steven Zittere, Asheley and Eric Martin, four great grandchildren, Cai and Cianna Kittredge, Kendyl and Avery Grayson, niece, Barbara Peterson, nephew, Gary Robinson, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon John Paul McGuire officiating. Interment and graveside services will be held on Saturday December 5, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Miami Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, donations may be to the American Diabetes Foundation in Mrs. Newbold’s memory. Mountain View Funeral of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
