Willis was born in Towns County, Georgia on February 17, 1937 to the late Grady Arthur Plott and Buna (Swanson) Plott. Willis was a lifetime resident of the area, and a member of Youngstown Baptist Church. He was known for the beautiful weaved baskets that he would craft and sell. Willis could be seen at many of the historic festivals in the county where he would sit playing his juice harp for the crowd. He was a man of few words, but many talents. Gifted with a green thumb, Willis was able to cultivate ornate flowers during his work as a Nurseryman.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruby Joann Plott; brothers, Fred and Robert Plott; and sister, Sandra Gunter. Numerous other extended family members also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathon Hood and Rev. David Feathers officiating.
