Rev. Ervin Charles Wells: Obituary

Rev. Ervin Charles Wells, age 89 of Blairsville, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at his home. Rev. Wells was born January 7, 1927 in Canton, NC to Rob and Rosa Trull Wells. He was a baptist minister and a member of Day of Grace Baptist Church. Ervin had worked for most of his life harvesting timber. He was a kind and gracious individual, always exhibiting the love of God in his life.

Survivors include his dearly loved wife, Elizabeth Payne Wells, son, Leon Wells of Blairsville, granddaughter, Brooke (Stacy) Shook of Young Harris, and special friends, John Garrett, Rachel Deyton, and Sybil Harkins. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Day of Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Griggs officiating. The body will lie in state at the church Monday from 10:30 until 11:00 a.m. Music will be provided by Calvin Collins and Lee and Kathie Griggs and also by J.W. Patterson. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant #1 Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: Kenneth Grizzle, Jon Garrett, Mike Combs, Jeff Jefferson, Harold Wells, and David Payne.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Sunday, December 18, 2016, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
