Mr. J.W. Standridge: Obituary

Mr. J.W. Standridge age 73 of Blairsville formerly of Toccoa, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday Jan. 21, 2017 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mr. Standridge was born on Dec. 27, 1943 in Toccoa, GA., the son of the late George Grant Standridge and the late Sarah Turpin Standridge. He was a veteran of the US Navy. J.W. loved truck driving, working on cars and computers. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather. J.W. was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Standridge are two sons and one daughter in law, Michael and Jennifer Standridge of Salt Lake City, UT., Allen Standridge of WA., three sisters and two brothers in law, Louise and Home Payne of Blairsville, Hazel Martin of Walhalla, SC., Polly and Lee Thomas of Locust Grove, GA., one brother, Douglas Standridge of Blairsville, four grandchildren, Travis, Christopher, Amanda and Zoe, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be held on Monday January 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Toccoa, GA. with Rev. Fred Lodge officiating. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Sunday Jan. 29, 2017 from 4-6:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
