Mrs. Dorothy Lee Corn: Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Corn age 84 of  Blairsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 22, 2017 in the Chatuge Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Corn was born on July 6, 1932 in Margaret, GA., the daughter of the late George Dallas Pickelsimer and the late Millie Warren Pickelsimer. Dorothy loved cooking. She was a loving and wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dexter Corn in 1960 and sisters, Bonnie Stanley, Irene Cochran and Bulah Pickelsimer. Mrs. Corn was a member of Cooper Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Corn are one son and daughter in law, Richard and Debbie Corn of Blairsville, two daughters and sons in law, Elizabeth and Ronnie Bridges of Chatsworth, GA., Vivian and Joe Schuch of Goodyear, AZ., three brothers and two sisters in law, Doyle and Corrine Pickelsimer of Chatsworth, William and Virgie Pickelsimer of Telico Plaines, Burless of Talking Rock, three sisters and two brothers in law, Matlee Miller of Hiawassee, Hattie and Bill Chastain of Eton, GA., Betty and Bill Corn of Mineral Bluff, five grandchildren, Chasity Miller, Candace Lee, Mary Bridges, Mindy Beavers, and Jason Schuch, six great grandchildren, Strauss Miller, Morgan and Harley Beavers, Alex and Addyson Lee, Miles Bridges,Alexander Lee, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Feb. 25, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Benny Nix officiating. Special music will be presented by JR Graham and Friends. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Joe Schuch, Jason Schuch, Calvin Stanley, Paul Chastain, Glenn Pickelsimer and Lloyd Pickelsimer. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiawassee where she will rest next to her husband Dexter. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
