Mr. Joel Preston Freeman: Obituary

Mr. Joel Preston Freeman age 21 of Blairsville formerly of Murphy passed away on Thursday February 23, 2017 in Union County from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Joel was born on December 7, 1995 in Murphy, NC the son of Preston Keith Freeman and Sheila Hughes Freeman. Joel loved riding motorcycles and skateboarding. He was always a thrill seeker and lived life to the fullest. He was a loving son, brother and grandson. He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Robert Eugene Freeman and Pat Hughes. Joel was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving Joel are his parents, Preston and Sheila Freeman of Blairsville, one brother, Aaron Keith Freeman of Blairsville, two grandmothers, Jackie Freeman of Brasstown and Lois Mason of Blairsville, several aunts, uncles, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Joel’s Life will be held on Sunday February 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Union County Community Center with Pastor Valentin Rush officiating. The family will meet with friends following the service. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in Joel’s memory.
