Mrs. Brenda Gay Abercrombie, age 54, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Emory University Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Abercrombie was born on October 18, 1962 in Walden Colorado, the daughter of the late Benjamin Richard Ballew and the late Betty Spiva Ballew. Brenda was passionate about her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, sister, and nana. Brenda also loved serving her community and the residents of Union County, and did so for over 22 years as a Communications Officer for the Union County E-911 Department where she touched a lot of people’s lives. Everyone who knew Brenda loved her. Brenda was preceded in death by her late husband Jimmy Lynn Abercrombie, brother, Ray Ballew, sister, Karen Ballew, and nephews Tony Bryant and Barry Bryant. Brenda was a lifelong resident of Union County, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Abercrombie are one daughter and son-in-law April and Jason Seabolt of Blairsville, GA, one son and daughter-in-law Aaron and Autumn Abercrombie of Blairsville, GA, sister and brother-in-law Faye and Anthony Bryant of Blairsville, GA, grandchildren Jaycee Seabolt, Peyton Seabolt, Hayden Abercrombie, and many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Nix and Rev. Danny White officiating. Special music will be presented by the New Liberty Baptist Church Choir. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Brady Tanner, Richard Tanner, Daniel Abercrombie, Stevie Abercrombie, David Bryant, and Jimmy Spivia. Interment will follow at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband Jimmy. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 between 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. at Mountain View Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted, or in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Georgia Transplant Association in Brenda’s memory.
