Mr. Vaughn “Ted” King: Obituary

Mr. Vaughn “Ted” King, age 66 of Blairsville, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Union General Hospital. Mr. King was born February 18, 1951 in Blairsville, GA to the late Vaughn and Margie Elliott King. Ted was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of Zebulon Baptist Church. He worked in the building industry as a carpenter and mason. Ted also was a farmer and loved to work the land all during his life. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Marsha (Stepp) King; brothers, James, Harold and Hoyle King; and sisters, Christine Broome, Carol McGaha and Linda Beavers.

Survivors include: son, Jamie (Amanda) King, daughter, Tanya (Waylon) Gibby, sisters, Minnie (Welchel) Garrett, Pauline Bridges and Martha (Paul) Moss, grandchildren, Ethan King, Kaitlyn King, Kord Gibby, and Karis Gibby and brothers-in-law, Tim McGaha and Roger Broome and sisters-in-law, Patsy King and Gloria King. all of Blairsville.

Funeral services: Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with the Rev. R.L. Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ethan King, Trance King, Terry King, Marty King, Johnny Garrett, and Ronnie Garrett. Honorary pallbearers: Kord Gibby, Nathaniel Stepp, Rodney Broome, Roger Garrett, and Jason King.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville Monday, March 27, 2017, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
