Mrs. Tillie Mae Brown: Obituary

Mrs. Tillie Mae Brown age 97 of Blairsville passed away on Wednesday April 5, 2017 in the Union County Nursing following an extended illness.

Mrs. Tillie was born on April 9, 1919 in Bloomer, OH., the daughter of the late Peter Grise and the late Cynthia Hill Grise. Tillie loved crocheting, Cooking and Baking. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo Deo Brown in 1989, four brothers, Thomas, Jesse, Ford and Herbert Grise and six sisters, Vera Haworth, Elsie Baker, Alice Peterson, Irene Harmon, Mary Bement and Ruby Harmon. Mrs. Brown attended Ivy Log Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Brown are two daughters and sons in law, Darlene and Larry Smith of Blairsville, Judy and Bruce Wintrow of Neenah, WI., one son and daughter in law, Bill and Shirley Brown of Covington, OH., one sister, Theron Peterson of Minneapolis, MN., seven grandchildren, Eric and Chris Brown, Lisa Debenedetto, Loris Smith, Angie Wintrow, Melissa Hopper and Bruce Wintrow II, eight great grandchildren, Clark, Hudson, Lane, Bayleigh, Cody, Bruce III, Brandon and Alyssa, one great-great grandchild, Aleena, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday April 9, 2017 (her birthday) at 6:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Minister Nighta Davis officiating. Interment will follow on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 10:00 am from the Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery in Thonotosassa, FL. where she will rest next to beloved husband, Waldo. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in Mrs. Brown’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4-6:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
