Mr. James Forrest of Blairsville, Ga, formerly of Cleveland, Ga since 1981 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Union General Nursing Home.
Mr. Forrest was born in Novelty, Ohio on December 25, 1933 to the late David and Janet Chapman Forrest.
Jim enlisted in the Army during the Korean War in 1952 and was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany until his discharge in 1955. He was a collector of baseball memorabilia, a big baseball fan and a fan of the Boston Red Sox. Mr. Forrest is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ellen Pendleton Forrest: a brother, David Forrest: and a sister Janet Forrest Jacobs.
Surviving Mr. Forrest is his daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Rick Thomas of Blairsville, Ga, two sons: Stuart Forrest (Lora Aromin) of Canton, Ga: and Cameron Forrest (Lisa Hulsey) of Gainesville, Ga: grandchildren Kevin Thomas (Diane) of Aiken, SC, Todd Forrest (Joelle Golden) of Hiawassee, Ga, Kyle Thomas(Samantha) of Arlington, TX, James Forrest (Meghan) of Minnesota, Jessica Hill of Georgia and Amanda Carver (Ryan) of Gainesville, Ga., great grandchildren Jacoby Forrest, Brynn Metz, Bryar Thomas and a brother, Richard Forrest of Chesterland, Ohio. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
It was Mr. Forrest wishes to be cremated, no services are planned.
