Mrs. Colleen G. Judy: Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Mrs. Colleen G. Judy, age 92, of Blairsville, who passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Judy was born August 29, 1924 in Hansford, West Virginia to the late Albino & Hester George. She was a resident of Ft. Pierce, FL for many years and Blairsville, GA for over 30 years. Colleen was a most loved mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

A member of Coosa United Methodist Church. Colleen was active in the Women’s Ministry, Bible Study and Missions at the church. She also served faithfully for 14 years with hospice in Florida, and with Regency Hospice in the Blairsville area.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ben Gainey. Two grandsons and their wives, Matt and Stephanie Gainey; and Kevin and Maggie Gainey. Great-grandmother to Emmie Lynn Gainey. Also, stepson, Ralph W. Judy and two grandsons, Eric and Craig Judy.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Coosa United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 30, 2017. There will be a visitation with family at the church from 2:00-3:00. Burial will be in Ft. Pierce, FL next to her husband, Ralph W. Judy, Sr. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
