Mr. Rickey McKinley McIlvoy: Obituary

Mr. Rickey McKinley McIlvoy age 60 of Blairsville passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday July 15, 2017. Rickey was born on April 25, 1957 in New Port, AR., the son of the late Herbert McIlvoy and the late Myrtle Kirker McIlvoy. Rickey loved collecting guns, hunting and fishing. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather. Rickey’s life was his family. Rickey attended Faith Baptist Church. Surviving Rickey are his former wife and friend, Michele Mcllvoy of Blairsville, three daughters and one son in law, Kayla and Jason Majors, Kaitlin McIlvoy, Karlee McIlvoy and fiancé, Christian Forney all of Blairsville, one brother, Donnie McIlvoy of Scottsboro, AL., father in law, Don Woodward of Blairsville, his beloved dog Brutus, five grandchildren, Zane, Kaden, Ethan, Aidan Majors and Carson Forney, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 19, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Ken McBride officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Wayne Howard, Kevin McBride, Trevor Bilbo, , Bart Chitwood, Fred Poteet, Jack Churey,Steven Dyer and Don Kennedy. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charles Curry, Mike Robinson, Mike Longhair. Interment will follow in the Meadow View Cemetery where he will rest next to his parents. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
