Mr. James “Jake” Jacob Brock: Obituary

Mr. James “Jake” Jacob Brock age 18 of Blairsville passed away on Sunday August 27, 2017 in Union County. Jake was born on Nov. 1, 1998 in Duluth, GA., the son of Tonya Rebecca Hughes Brock and the late James Timothy Brock Sr. Jake loved fishing, hunting and riding dirt roads with his friends. He was a loving son, brother and grandson. He was preceded in death by his father, Tim Brock in 2015 and his grandfather, Kenny Hughes in 1999. Jake was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Jake are his mother, Tonya Hughes, his stepfather, James Fortenberry of Blairsville, brother and sister in law, T.J. and Tiffany Brock of Dawsonville, sister, Geneva Brock of Blairsville, grandparents, Joyce and Ray Richards, Henry and Glinda Brock of Dawsonville, Claxton and Linda Fortenberry of Blairsville, nephews, J.W. and J.R. Brock of Dawsonville, aunts and uncles, Tara and Robert Sisum of Lula, Tim and Amanda Hughes of Cleveland, Glen and Tonya Anthony of Dawsonville, several cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Joe Nickerson and Rev. Art Correll officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Ethan Shiebel, Josh Tatum, Dalton Hightower, Eric Foster, Josh Pruitt, Randall Hughes, Jordan Lee, Joel Davenport and Chris Foster. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in Jake’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
