Rev. Michael Ray Anderson: Obituary

Rev. Michael Ray Anderson age 55 of  Blairsville passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday September 19, 2017 following a brief illness.

Michael was born on May 9, 1962 in Blairsville, GA., the son of the late T.J. and Bernice (Lovell) Anderson. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He had owned and operated Anderson’s Tree Service for many years. He was ordained as a minister in 1991 and was the Pastor at Owltown Church of God from June 1999 until he went to be with his Lord. Michael loved hunting and loved people. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family, his church and the community.

Surviving Michael are his loving wife and best friend of thirty seven years, Diane Taylor Anderson of Blairsville, two sons and one daughter in law, Joseph and Susan Anderson, Jacob Anderson, one daughter and son in law, Jessica and Tracy Parker all of Blairsville, two sisters and brothers in law, Goldie and Sam Nichols of Young Harris, Judy and Jim Thompson, Anthony and Rachel Anderson all of Blairsville, one granddaughter, Lillian Rose Anderson, and his favorite “granddog” Eva, his church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Stuart Nichols and Rev. Rayburn Wilson officiating. Special music will be presented by Stuart Nichols and Ryan Wilson. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Joseph, Jacob and Matthew Anderson, Tracy Parker, Chris Churchill and Greg Deyton . Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jim Thompson, Dustin, Justin and Josh Bryson, Brantley Churchill, Jordan and Jesse Deyton. Interment will follow in the Owltown Church of God Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-9:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
