Mrs. Joyce Campbell: Obituary

Mrs. Joyce Campbell age 72 of  Blairsville passed away suddenly on Thursday September 21, 2017 in the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Campbell was born on July 20, 1945 in Seminole, OK., the daughter of the late Cletus Sorrell and the late Hazel Webster Sorrell. She was a resident of Blairsville GA for almost 26 years. She was a loving wife to Harold Campbell for 53 years, an amazing mother to Vicky Floyd, Tammy Ickler, and Robyn Campbell. She was the coolest granny ever to Sara Davis, Corey Doutrich, Aaron Doutrich, Jonathan Floyd, Emily Floyd, and Alexis Doutrich. She was a precious great grandmother to Skylynn Davis, Peyton Doutrich, Gabriel Davis, and Wyatt Doutrich. She was an incredible prayer warrior. She was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church. She loved gospel music, dancing, and playing games of any kind especially cards. She loved onions, potato chips and” bacon” was her hobby. She was preceded in death by her parents and also her twin brother, Tom Sorrell. Joyce was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Campbell are her loving husband and best friend of fifty three years, Harold Campbell of Blairsville, three daughters and one son in law, Vicky and David Floyd, Tammy Ickler and Robyn Campbell all of Blairsville, three brothers and sisters in law, Larry and Carla Sorrell of Monticello, UT., Rodney and Pat Sorrell of Calihan, CO., Randy and Sherry Sorrell of Charlotte, NC., six grandchildren, Sara and Cory Davis, Emily Floyd, Jonathan Floyd, Corey, Aaron and Alexis Doutrich, four great grandchildren, Skylynn, Gabriel, Peyton and Wyatt, several nieces, nephews, a host of her church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 30 at 4:00 P.M. at Shining Light Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Mason officiating. Burial will be at the Georgia National Cemetery on Monday October 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm., Family will meet with friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers if you wish donations may be made to the Shining Light Baptist Church for Missions in memory of Mrs Campbell.
