HIAWASSEE, Ga. – Towns County Sheriff’s Office investigators received information that illegal prostitution activity had been occurring in the area. Once the investigators received the information and confirmed that it was occurring, Towns County Sheriff’s Office launched an undercover investigation and sting operation.
On Saturday, Feb. 9, Towns County investigators and deputies conducted the sting operation. Two female suspects were arrested without incident at a location within Towns County. The investigators arrested:
- Samantha Dye, 24, of Hiawassee, Georgia
- Charged with One Count of Prostitution
- Cassey Cooper, 20, of Blairsville, Georgia
- Charged with One Count of ProstitutionThe two suspects were arrested when they arrived to meet an informant along with undercover officers. The investigation is active and on going and additional arrests and charges may be forthcoming.
The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
