SAFE Honors Local Volunteers
On Saturday, February 9, 2017 SAFE (Safety In Abusive Family Emergencies) gathered to
recognize the many community volunteers and supporters which support this organization .
This event included a barbecue dinner and was held at the Choestoe School House. In attendance
were the SAFE Board of Directors, SAFE Volunteers and Employees, and supporting members of the
community. This event was Chaired by Jeanne Rossow, Vice-President of the SAFE Board of
Directors and was co-chaired by Donna Towery and Lynne Pike. The SAFE Board of Directors
serenaded all in attendance with a SAFE thank you song written by SAFE Secretary Gail Kreher.
A delicious barbecue pork dinner along with chips, baked beans, cole slaw, and deserts was served
to all in attendance. The following businesses contributed to the success of this event: Ingles,
Blairsville and Hiawassee, Save-A-Lot, Blairsville, Foodland, Blairsville, Cook’s Country Kitchen,
Blairsville, Rib Country, Chick Filet, Sawmill Restaurant.
