Ms. Hildegard Hedwig Zimmel, age 77 of Green Road Young Harris, formerly of Roswell, GA., passed away peacefully on Friday January 24, 2020 in the Hayesville House following an extended illness. Ms. Zimmel was born on August 3, 1942 in Vienna, Austria, the daughter of the late Karl Zimmel & late Hilde Zimmel-Binderhofer. A lot of her free time was spent horse-back riding; she also was a proud owner of three Dobermans. Hildegard also co-owned the beauty shop “La Coiffeur” in Atlanta with her sister for over 40 years. Ms. Zimmel was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a sister & brother-in-law, Traude & Bruce Shann of Young Harris, sister & brother-in-law, Sigrid & Hansi Adam of Vienna, Austria, and a nephew, Herbert Kral of Vienna, Austria.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cast-off Pet Rescue (Castoff Pet Rescue Inc. P.O. Box 1932 Blairsville, GA 30514) in Hildegard’s memory.
