Former Panther cross-country star involved in accidental shooting

BLAIRSVILLE, Ga – Class of 2018 graduate and cross-country record breaker, Lance Underwood was the victim of an accidental drive-by shooting in middle Georgia.

Underwood was reportedly driving through a bad neighborhood in the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 11, when a bullet pierced the car door. It struck him in the femur.

All known information suggested that the incident was entirely random, just a case of wrong place at the wrong time.

Underwood was transported to a Macon hospital and doctors expect him to recover.

He’s currently on a cross-country scholarship at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.

Fetch Your News (FYN) has reached out to the college for a statement.

Please keep the Underwood family in your thoughts and prayers.

FYN will update this story if any more information becomes available.
