Boil water advisory lifted for city water customers on Gainesville Highway

UDAPTE: The boil water advisory was lifted on November 21, 2020.

Due to a waterline repair along Gainesville Highway, City of Blairsville water customers on Gainesville Highway from Rock Road to Orbit Drive may experience water loss. Should these customers experience water loss or low pressure, boil water advisory will be in effect once water service resumes and until further notice.

What to do?

Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least (3) three minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. All stored water, drink or ice made recently from this supply shall be discarded.
