BLAIRSVILLE, Ga – While the annual parade isn’t taking place again this year, a Memorial Day Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 29 at 10 a.m. in Union County War Memorial Veterans’ Park.
The solemn ceremony will honor those who gave “the last full measure of devotion” for their country.
All are invited to attend and follow social distancing guidelines. Veterans’ Park is located at the corner of School Circle and Hughes Street, not far from the square.
Paradise Hills Resort’s also hosting its 2nd annual Great American Pie Fest to honor Americas’ Heroes. The event costs $25 and takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Hiawassee Pro Rodeo starts on Friday, May 28, and ends on Saturday, May 29 at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. The event costs $15 for adults, $10 for children six to 12. The rodeo begins each night at 8 p.m.
In Blue Ridge, Spring Arts in the Park runs Saturday and Sunday with over 200 arts, crafts, and food booths. Admission is $5. Southeastern Tourism Society recognizes it as one of the Top 20 tourism events.
