UNION COUNTY, Ga. – On April 9, 2024, UCFD firefighters, career and volunteer, from stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 13 responded to a structure fire with people still in the home in the area of Eagle Bend yesterday.
The responding units arrived to find a home approximately 75% involved with fire, a second home exposure fire, and brush fire. Firefighters performed an aggressive attack to control the blaze.
There was one civilian injury and tragically one civilian fatality. State fire marshal’s office is assisting with the investigation.
No confirmed cause at this time.
