Orpheus Erwin Deaver (Corky)was born July 7th, 1930, passed to another home on September 10st, 2015 in Gainesville, GA. In his last few decades, Corky was known in his community as a cattle farmer who worked 7 days a week (selling his animals to buyers around the US). He served on several national & local boards to promote the beefalo cattle breed. He loved his church and believed in helping spread the news of Christ. He sincerely loved America and all it represented for the hope of mankind. His talent for leadership and technical expertise eventually led to his last assignment in the White House Communications Agency working under two presidents. Much of his work was classified. He earned the second highest military medal, the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and others for his efforts in direct support of the office of the President of the United States. He was the only child of Homer Deaver & Bertha (Souther) Deaver of Union County, Georgia.
