Hattie Jane Wooten: Obituary

Mrs. Hattie Jane Wooten age 88 of Jazzberry Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully on Monday October 5, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness. Hattie was born in Chattanooga TN on January 7, 1927 to the late Jake and Dollie Reese McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her husband William Arthur Wooten who passed away in 2001, and three brothers Bobby, Joe and Totsie McDaniel. Hattie had lived in the area since 1980. She owned and operated Wooten’s Gym for over 20 years and had played the piano at several area churches for many years. Jane was a member of Day of Grace Baptist Church. Jane is survived by one son and daughter in law, Michael and Cristina Wooten of Blairsville, three Grandchildren, Micana Wooten, Amanda Boughnou and William Maximus Wooten, her sister in law, Judy McDaniel of Hixon, TN and several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday October 25, 2015 at 3:00 pm from the Day of Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Henderson and Rev. Lee Griggs officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests donations may be made to the Day of Grace Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Wooten’s memory. Interment and graveside service was held on Thursday Oct. 8, 2015 at 12:00 pm from the Old McDonald Cemetery in Ootlewah, Tn., where she will rest next to her beloved husband Bill.
