Mrs. Claudia Awanda Stanley: Obituary

Mrs. Claudia Awanda Stanley age 94 of Blairsville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday September 21, 2016 in the Union County Nursing following an extended illness. Mrs. Stanley was born on March 18, 1922 in Hayti, MO, the daughter of the late Thomas Sanders and the late Flora Lineville Sanders. Claudia loved making pottery and cleaning her house and loved her church. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Stanley in 2002 and also by two brothers, Harry and Wayne Sanders, four sisters, Mary Myers, Deutro Holt, Ila Jean Harris and Ida Sue Stanley. Mrs. Stanley was a member of the Blairsville Church of Christ.

Surviving Mrs. Stanley are one daughter and son in law, Brenda and Woodie Rains of Bartlesville, OK., one son and daughter in law, Don and Carol Stanley of Blairsville, three grandchildren, Dana Stanley, Kristina Harris, Steve (Julie) Stanley, three great grandchildren, Justus Harris, Luke and Katie Stanley, several nieces, nephews, her church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A graveside services will be held on Friday September 23, 2016 at 3:30 pm from the Stanley Church of Christ Cemetery in Fannin County with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. Special music will be presented by Jim Stanley. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Don Stanley, Woodie Rains, Justus Harris, Steve Stanley, Aaron Stanley and Luke Stanley. She will rest next to her beloved husband, J.B. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to Georgia Agape in memory of Mrs. Stanley. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
