Mr. Edward Clayton “Clay” Gage: Obituary

Mr. Edward Clayton “Clay” Gage age 74 of Blairsville passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Saturday September 24, 2016 following an extended illness. Mr. Gage was born on October 18, 1941 in St. Petersburg, FL., the son of the late Clarence E. Gage and the late Elsie Mae Hopkins Gage. Clay loved working on his cars and could fix anything with a motor. He always enjoyed helping his neighbors with anything that needed repaired. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and also a brother, Vernon Gage. Mr. Gage was of the Christian faith.

Surviving Mr. Gage are his loving wife and best friend of fifty two years, Vera Colella Gage of Blairsville, daughter and son in law, Susan and James Crider of Titusville, FL., son, Clayton Gage of Titusville, daughter and son in law, Julie and Matthew Brechen of Clearwater, FL., two brothers and one sister in law, Eugene and Melinda Gage of Seymore, TN., Allen Gage of Floral City, FL., four grandchildren, Zachary and Caleb Brecher, Katrina and Karlyn Crider, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday Oct. 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm from Enota Valley (formerly Goose Creek) with Deacon Larry Casey officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul % St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in memory of Mr. Gage. The family will meet with friends following the service. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
