Mrs. Jane Schultz Driskell: Obituary

Jane was born November 10, 1940 in Isabella, Okla. to Theodore L. (Ted) and Madora Johnson Schultz. She attended Isabella Grade School and graduated from Fairview High School in 1958. Upon graduation from high school, she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and then graduated from Enid Business College. When Jane was young, she learned to help in the family grocery store with other family members. Education was instilled in her by her mother, who was a school teacher, as were two of her aunts. Jane and her sister were loved and adored by three aunts who had no children.

Jane is predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law, Larry Jensen. She is survived by her husband Jerry of 56 years; two sons Timothy and daughter-in-law Kim of Orlando, FL and Michael and daughter-in-law Ramona of Blairsville, GA; grandsons Dustin of Orlando, FL, and Calvin of Punta Gorda, FL; granddaughter Kaitlyn of Orlando, FL; a sister Sue Jensen of Fairview, Okla., a nephew Don Jensen of Dallas, TX. and a niece Susan Jensen Smith of Fairview, Okla.

Jane loved people and loved to help people. She and Jerry went on many mission trips through the years. Three of these trips were to help the survivors of Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi and eight to help the poor in the coal mine area of Kentucky thru Red Bird Mission at Beverly, KY. Jane was also a volunteer with the local Hope House for many years. Jane worked most all of her married life. She had been a secretary to a flight school owner, a bank president, the owner of a real estate office and several insurance offices. Jane had a total of 27 years in the insurance industry and retired in 2005 as an agent with Jerry Henderson State Farm Insurance in Blairsville, GA.

Jane was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority with 40 years of continuous service and held the degree of Torch Bearer which is the highest degree in Beta Sigma Phi.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Union County on February 18, 2017 with Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation at 1359 Broadway (Suite 1509) New York, NY 10018.
