Mr. Johnny Weldon (Pee Wee) Owenby: Obituary

Mr. Johnny Weldon (Pee Wee) Owenby age 70 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Sunday April 16, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. Pee Wee was born on April 20, 1946 in Union County, the son of the late Garnett Owenby and the late Bonnie Erwin Owenby. Pee Wee loved visiting people and talking. He never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents and also six brothers, Bill, Audie, Dillard, Ray, J.D. and Charles Jr. Owenby and two sisters, Mildred Owenby Butt and Dorothy Owenby Mashburn. He enjoyed racing and spending time with his family. Pee Wee was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Pee Wee are one brother and sister in law, Jimmy and Jimmie Nell Owenby of Hiawassee, three sisters and one brother in law, Brenda and Robert Wallace of Blairsville, Shirley Brown of Adairsville, Melva Lynn Ledford of Blairsville, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A visitation will be held on Monday April 17, 2017 from 6-9:00 pm from the Mountain View Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in Pee Wee’s memory.
