Panthers soccer team beats Rabun; moves to 4-1

The Union Co. Panthers soccer team earned their fourth win of the young season Tuesday, March 3, with a 3-1 win against region-foe Banks Co. in Blairsville.

The Panthers (4-1, 1-0 Region 8-AA) scored all three of their goals in the first half thanks to the Robbins brothers.

Senior Kobi Robbins scored his ninth goal of the season in just the second minute off an assist from his brother, sophomore Kyler Robbins.

Kyler followed suit a minute later with a goal of his own, his second of the season, before striking again in the 26th minute for his third of 2020.

Rabun Co. finally got on the board with a goal in the 27th minute.

Despite multiple threats from both sides during the remainder of the first and the entirety of the second half, the score stayed at 3-1 for the final 53 minutes of the match.

Sophomore Dalton Allen added an assist for Union Co., which next visits Monticello (3-3-1, 0-0) for another region match beginning at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 6.
