Commerce, GA- The Union County Panthers competed in the 2A Sectional Track Meet this past week at East Jackson High School in Commerce, Georgia. 4 individuals and 2 relay teams were able to snag a spot in the top 8 and qualify for the state championships on Thursday.
Lola Hunter was the lone individual for the Panthers to qualify for multiple events, as she placed 4th in both the 1600M run and the 3200M run. Mattie Brookshire finished 8th in the shotput, Cooper Kluth finished 7th in the 110M Hurdles, and Zander Rotko finished 8th in the 400M Run.
The Girls 4x800M relay team won the bronze medal at the Sectional meet, coming in third.
The Mens 4x400M relay team also qualified for state with a 4th place finish.
