Panthers Survive Late Rally, Defeat Fellowship Christian 5-3

Blairsville, GA- The bats were hot early on in this one for the Union County Panthers as they quickly jumped out to a five-run lead in the third inning over Region 8AA foe Fellowship Christian.

Eli Gwynn was on the bump for the Panthers, allowing 6 hits and 0 earned runs over 6 and two-thirds innings. Gwynn also struck out 6 Fellowship Christian batters and 3 unearned runs came across the plate.

Hayden Hughes and Maddox Patton led the Panthers with 2 hits a piece, while outfielder Travis Tracy added to his RBI total with a team-leading 2 runs batted in on the night.

Union County and Fellowship Christian will take the field once again on Saturday for a doubleheader at FC.

The Panthers are now 4-3 on the year and are tied for first in Region 8AA.
