Union County High School senior Sloan Sutton is this week’s TeamFYNSports Writer’s Player of the Week!

Sutton anchors the Panthers’ defense as a middle linebacker and serves as the No. 2 running back for the team.

Friday night against Elbert County, Sutton’s name was said over the loudspeaker time and time again as he made play after play on defense, especially in the first half.

Sutton’s performance was even bigger than usual. The Panthers’ offense struggled early and relied on their defense to keep them in the game.

Sutton and the Panthers’ defense delivered, holding the visiting Blue Devils to just 14 points and forcing three turnovers.
