### **Mandy Hunter Named Region 7AA Athletic Director of the Year**

**BLAIRSVILLE, GA —** Union County High School’s very own Mandy Hunter has been recognized as the Region 7AA Athletic Director of the Year, an honor that highlights her leadership, vision, and impact on Panther athletics.

Hunter, a Union County native and longtime supporter of youth sports in the area, has played a major role in strengthening the school’s athletic programs in recent years. Since stepping into the role of athletic director, she’s been a driving force behind both student success and program growth, helping athletes thrive on and off the field.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by my peers in Region 7AA,” said Hunter. “But really, this award reflects the hard work of our coaches, students, staff, and the entire Union County community. It’s a team effort every day.”

Under her guidance, Union County has not only seen athletic improvement across multiple sports but has also emphasized strong academics and community involvement. From scheduling and compliance to supporting coaches and student-athletes, Hunter has approached every aspect of her job with passion and professionalism.

Fellow administrators and coaches from across the region praised her for her integrity, organization, and ability to build positive relationships. The Region 7AA honor is awarded by fellow athletic directors and school leaders, making it a true peer recognition of her efforts and accomplishments.

“Mandy leads with heart, and it shows in everything she does,” said one colleague from a neighboring school. “She’s set a high standard not just for Union County, but for the entire region.”

The award comes at a time when Union County’s athletic programs continue to grow in competitiveness and school spirit. And while Hunter is quick to credit her team, those around her know her leadership has made a lasting difference.

As she continues her work, Hunter says her focus remains on creating opportunities for students to grow—not just as athletes, but as young people ready to take on life’s challenges.
