Ringgold Pulls Away from Union County, 21–7
Blairsville, GA — October 3, 2025
The Union County Panthers were unable to hold off the Ringgold Tigers Friday night, falling 21–7 in a hard-fought region matchup at Union County High School.
Union County struck first, taking a 7–0 lead in the opening quarter with a balanced mix of running and short passes that kept the Tigers’ defense on its heels. But Ringgold tied the game by halftime and took control in the second half with a strong running attack and timely plays through the air.
The Panthers’ defense fought valiantly, but turnovers and missed opportunities prevented Union County from mounting a serious comeback. Despite a few promising drives, the offense struggled to gain consistency, particularly in the second half, as Ringgold’s defense tightened up.
With the loss, Union County drops to 1–6 overall and 1–4 in region play. The Panthers will get a chance to regroup during a bye week before returning to action against Coahulla Creek on October 17.
Ringgold improves to 5–2 on the season, continuing its push toward the top of the region standings.
