Mr. Fred Lee Miller age 75 of Miller Cove Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully at his home on Monday August 17, 2015 following a brief illness. Mr. Miller was born on April 13, 2015 in West Palm Beach, FL., the son of the late Frank R. Miller and the late Juanita Flake Miller. Fred was a veteran of the US Air Force of the Vietnam War. He was known as “Miller Time” at the Union County School system where he was a substitute teacher for over ten years. He had also been on the Eagles Board of Scouts in Miami-Dade County for over ten years. Fred always had utmost compassion for his students at Union county and was always very patriotic. He was a very loving husband. Fred was a member of Coosa United Methodist Church. Surviving Mr. Miller are his loving wife and best friend of fifty five years, Lorraine Paulson Miller of Blairsville, his three favorite feline pets, G.K., Ho Bo Joe and Red, a multitude of his church family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 22, 2015 at 12:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Eric Grant, Bradley Glass, Doug Hughes, C.J. Byers, Lonnie Brown, Gene Monkus and Jason Arrowood. Interment will follow in the Coosa United Methodist Church Cemetery with the North Ga. Honor Guard conducting military honors. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30- 12:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
