Mr. Joseph Phillip Maimone age 79 passed away peacefully on Friday April 29, 2016 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mr. Maimone was born on June 7, 1936 in Bronx, NY., the son of the late Frederick Maimone and the late Josephine Peteri Maimone. He was a veteran of the US Marine of the Korean War. He had made his home in Hayesville for the past fourteen years. Joseph loved woodworking and boating. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Crisman Maimone in 1991. Mr. Maimone was a member of the Good Shepherd Church.

Surviving Mr. Maimone are one daughter and son in law, Katy and Ronald McEwan of Ft. Myers, FL., one son, Joseph Maimone Jr. of Fairlawn, NJ., one grand daughter, Alyssa Maimone, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and interment will follow in the George Washington Cemetery in Fairlawn, NJ. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Church in Hayesville in Mr. Maimone’s memory.
