Mrs. Anita Derflinger age 76 of Coco Lane Blairsville passed away peacefully on Monday June 6, 2016 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Derflinger was born n March 7, 1940 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late Fred H. Bame and the late Marie Estes Blame. Anita was an Emergency Room Registered Nurse for 40 years and was an avid quilter and volunteered for Habitat For Humanity and the Union General Hospital Auxiliary. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother and was the Clerk of Session of the Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Surviving Mrs. Derflinger are one son and daughter in law, Timothy and Laura Derflinger of Blairsville, GA, one daughter and son in law, Janice and Patrick Stoffel of Onalaska, WI, one brother and sister in law Allen and Jeanne Bame of Blacksburg, VA, one sister and brother in law, Jan and Gary Smith of Winchester, VA, two grandchildren, Zachary Stoffel and Isabella Derflinger, a host of her church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at 2pm from the Mountain Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Travis Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish donations may be made to the Mountain Presbyterian Church or the Union General Hospital Auxilary or to Habitat For Humanity in Mrs. Derflinger’s memory. The family will meet with friends following the service. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
