Mrs. Myrtle McIlvoy age 85 of East Blairsville, GA. Passed away peacefully on January 20, 2017 in the Fannin Regional Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. McIlvoy was born on July 25, 1931 in Weiner, AR., the daughter of the late Michael Andrew Kirker and the late Mary Ann Stiddem Kirker. Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert McKinley McIlvoy in 2016 and numerous siblings. Mrs. McIlvoy was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. McIlvoy are one son, Rick McIlvoy of Blairsville, Donnie and Sue McIlvoy of Scottsboro, AL., Rita Sandifer of Ft. Pierce, FL., one sister, Vivian Henderson of Bradford, AR., six grandchildren, Kayla Majors, Kaitlin Grice, Karlee McIlvoy, Lesha Westberry, Daphne Petersen and Kristina McIlvoy, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday Jan. 23, 2017 at 3:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Ken McBride officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Jason Majors, Christian Forney, Steve Dyer, Bart Chitwood, Nathaniel McTaggart and Jack Churay. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Emory Alexander. Interment will follow in the Meadow Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband Herbert. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
