Mrs. Geraldine Hilton Boyer age 52 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Thursday March 22, 2017 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Boyer was born on Nov. 5, 1964 in Murphy, NC., the daughter of the late Randall Beaver and the late Mary Abernathy Beaver. Geraldine loved animals and especially loved and cherished her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. Geraldine was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Boyer are two daughters and sons in law, Vanessa and Shawn Potter of Malabar, FL., Joni and Ed Carney of Blairsville, two sisters and brothers in law, Glenda and Charles Wright of Blairsville, Belinda and Mark Cash of Hickory, NC., six grandchildren, Katelyn, Reba, Zachary, Waylon, Gregory and Ashlyn, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday April 1, 2017 at 6:00 pm from Hemlock Ridge, 540 Young Cane Creek Rd. Blairsville with Raymond Trumbull officiating. Special music will be presented by the Do A Lil Pickin Band. In lieu of flowers if you wish, donations may be made to the Union County Humane Society Mtn. Shelter or to help defray expenses in Geraldine’s memory. The family will meet with friends following the services. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
